Dayton captures league title over Amity in battle of "The Dive"

The battle of The Dive. Two old school run first football teams met on a crisp and chilled night to decided a league championship. Amity vs Dayton. Two farm schools that are bitter rivals and hate each other.  Both teams were 4-0 heading into the matchup to decide the 3A-Special District-One-West champion. The game was quite boring, with lots of runs that resulted in minimum yards. The only scoring in regulation was during the first half, and the game entered overtime 6-6. High school overtime games are extremely rare, with most schools running a west coast offense or simply overpowering the other team with a striking run game. Dayton got the ball first and quickly scored and converted their two point conversion. Amity was up next and threw and incomplete pass before an interception ended the game. Dayton rushed the field and second year head coach Jacob Peterson threw his arms up in triumph.
